A look at sinkholes in Florida

The state is especially prone to sinkholes because underneath the ground is limestone, a porous rock that easily dissolves in water, sometimes forming a hole in the earth.
In this June 25, 2012 file photo, a truck hangs over the edge of a sinkhole that opened up in the parking lot of Hughes Relocation Services in Salt Springs, Fla. Tropical Storm Debby raked the Tampa Bay area with high wind and heavy rain.
